Selon l'espérance de vie, les générations précédentes ont diminué l'âge de départ à la retraite depuis la fin de la guerre.

L'âge remonte, mais l'espérance de vie ne suit pas. Il y a donc une réelle inégalité entre les retraités et les futurs retraités, qui ont eu un faible effort comparé aux générations actuelles.

De l'autre côté, l'effort de cotisation des actifs pour la retraite à doublé depuis les années 1970. De 12-13%, il est passé à 28% aujourd'hui.
Les cotisations des salaires ont doublés, mais il y a des exonérations et allègements de cotisations pour le salaire SMIC. Cela pousse les employeurs à tirer les salaires vers le bas, et les salaires plus élevés paient pour les SMIC cotisant moins.

La CSG augmente continuellement. La TVA est détournée pour financer la Sécurité Sociale.

Les retraites ont augmenté de 30% dans la part du PIB par rapport à 1990, de 10 à 13%. Elles représentent 25% des dépenses publiques, et selon le budget la moitié de la dette; sans compter les dépenses de santé.
Le chômage représente 3% et le RSA 1%. Voilà.

De même, les dépenses sociales selon l'age sont significatifs. 60% des dépenses sociales sont destinées aux plus de 60 ans.

Dans d'autres pays d'Europe, l'âge de départ à la retraite est à 70 ans.

La retraite n'est pas un droit, ni un ponzi, mais il est vrai que les boomers ont obtenu des avantages qu'ils n'ont pas financés. Ils ont endetté le pays, ensuite ils ont fait payé l'addition à la génération suivante.

Le système des retraites est alors le premier facteur d'inégalités entre les générations. La richesse moyenne en fonction de l'âge est cependant le millenial moyen est plus pauvre que le boomer moyen, et sa prospérité ne progresse pas. En revanche, le top 10% de sa génération est beaucoup plus riche que sa moyenne. La richesse des millenials provient surtout des aides des boomers; cela dépend donc aussi de la famille et de l'héritage.

L'effort pour payer le même logement est passé de 70 SMIC à 220 SMIC pour une maison dans la Haute-Savoie.

En conclusion, beaucoup repose sur l'héritage; qui conditionne un niveau de vie. Les retraites sont donc indues par rapport à l'état de l'économie et aux prochaines générations.

Comment sortir de ce problème ?
Si la situation reste comme elle est, alors les marchés finiront par arrêter de prêter, ou le FMI/UE viendront faire pression à la France. Dans tous les cas, les retraites ne peuvent pas tenir.
Pour éviter cela, avoir sa propre monnaie est essentiel afin de fixer son propre taux de change.
Avoir une certaine inflation stable (5-10%) avec des taux d'intérêts fixes. Cette inflation évite la rente et pousse à investir; à s'endetter puisque la monnaie se dévalue avec le temps. Le protectionnisme incite plus de travail.
L'autre levier serait de faire plus d'enfants: 2-4 enfants par famille et c'est réglé; mais c'est clairement une mauvaise raison.
Une autre règle doit être de définir un niveau de retraite lié à l'économie ou à l'effort demandé par actif; ou favoriser l'épargne ou l'investissement via capitalisation comme vu précédemment.

The reflex to start with a database server is a habit, not an engineering decision. It made sense when SQLite did lock the whole file on every write. That stopped being true a long time ago, and the tooling caught up: WAL for concurrency, STRICT for type safety, Litestream for replication.

Le système s'appelle ADDW, pour Advanced Driver Distraction Warning. Il est imposé par le règlement européen de sécurité générale (GSR), en vigueur depuis 2022 par phases successives.

Le site automobile belge Gocar.be a testé l'ADDW dans un Xpeng P7+. Et le constat est particulierement sévère.
Le système se déclenche sur des comportements de conduite parfaitement ordinaires : un coup d'œil au paysage, un changement de chanson sur l'écran central, un regard vers les enfants sur la banquette arrière. Sur autoroute, les alertes répétées deviennent selon le testeur une source d'irritation bien plus qu'un filet de sécurité.

Le règlement européen précise que le système ne doit "pas enregistrer ou conserver en continu des données autres que ce qui est nécessaire". Mais le texte ne définit pas ce que "nécessaire" signifie. Aucun mécanisme d'audit indépendant n'est prévu pour vérifier que les images restent effectivement dans la boucle fermée du véhicule. Aucun calendrier de suppression n'est imposé.

La fondation Mozilla a estimé que 84% des constructeurs automobiles partagent ou vendent les données de leurs conducteurs. Reuters révélait que des employés de Tesla s'échangeaient en interne des séquences des caméras embarquées de leurs clients.

En 2026, General Motors a eu une amende (dérisoire de 12.75 millions) pour avoir vendu entre 2020 et 2024 les données de localisation et de comportement de conduite de centaines de milliers d'automobilistes vis son service OnStar, l'assitance d'urgence.

Aujourd’hui, comme les camions de pompiers n’ont pas de dérogation par rapport à ces normes européennes, on est obligé de sortir des véhicules en plein incendie pour faire le complément d’AdBlue. Dès lors, on est sur des feux qui durent pendant plusieurs heures ou plusieurs jours.

L'AdBlue dans les camions est utilisé pour respecter la norme Euro 5, afin de réduire les oxydes d'azote. Or ce sont les feux de forets qui en sont les premiers émetteurs.

Donc des camions prennent plus de temps en intervention car il faut les recharger en AdBlue, donc la forêt brûlante émet plus d'oxyde d'azote.

C'est un raté. En considérant uniquement ce gaz, l'obligation d'AdBlue pour les camions de pompiers est donc contre-productif.

Selon le nombre de jours qu'on a vécu, le temps d'une journée paraît plus ou moins grand par rapport à nos jours déjà vécu.

Le message que je souhaite faire passer est que si tu ne veux pas ou peux pas donner d’argent à un projet que tu estimes pourtant qu’il le mérite, il y a également la solution pour toi de donner de ton temps. Va parler du projet, convaincre d’autres personnes qui elles peuvent donner de l’argent de donner. Tu peux donner 5 euros, et/ou convaincre 10 personnes de donner 5 euros : cela sera encore plus utile pour le projet auquel tu crois au final, vu qu’il récoltera plus d’argent que ce que tu aurais pu donner. Et surtout, il y a tout ce temps que tu as pris pour ce projet, dont on peut difficilement mesurer la valeur

People like us who blog just write about things that interested us. Internet fame might be nice, but we’ve learned it’s elusive. We learn to be content that someone, someday, will find our work useful.

Blogging is not (only) a popularity goal stated by Jeff Starr's The Pros and Cons of Blogging:

[P]opularity is not synonymous with success. Blogs that are popular have managed to appeal to the mainstream mentality, but are far from successful on many other levels. Originality, sincerity, authenticity, and truthfulness are just a handful of the different measures of a blog’s success. You don’t have to be like everyone else — dare to be different.

One step further:

Chasing popularity instead of seeking to produce something of value that may be pleasant or useful to people who happen upon it is approaching blogging and internet writing through the lens of social media. More in Creators and More and More Content]

Ten tips for A Better Weblog from Rebecca Blood higlights the opposite of the mainstream social media:

Write about what you love. A weblog is the place for strong opinions, whether about politics, music, social issues, gardening, or your profession. The more engaged you are with your subject, the more interesting your writing will be.

About learning between humans, it seems. Josh W. Comeau receently shared that the last course "sell roughly 1/3 as many copies as a typical course launch. [...] There's sort of a double whammy with AI:

1. Many people are wondering whether developer jobs will even exist in a few months.
2. Even if they do want to learn new dev skills, LLMs can provide personalized tutoring so there's less incentive to buy a paid course.

The entire vibe has shifted. The majority of [community] folks are still on Twitter but there’s so much AI grifting and misery and hate in that place. LinkedIn is a parody of itself at this point. Bluesky feels reasonably cosy but way too much of a bubble. The community isn’t there. The forums are dead, the new Discord is quiet.

But the most troubling part of this story is Apple’s terrible handling of the issue. Murphy reported the bug in June 2024, and Apple responded a month later, saying they had launched an internal investigation. Then, in March of this year, they announced they’d fixed the issue—except they hadn’t. Murphy checked, and the flaw was still there. So in May, Apple changed its tune and flat-out told him to shut up, but the most annoying thing about this whole situation is the crappy handling of it: “We would appreciate it if you wouldn’t disclose this information until our investigation is complete.” In short, just shut up while we do nothing to fix it ^^.

When ChatGPT appeared in 2022, I quickly realized the Web was being forced into another battle. This one is different. With BBSs, the Web won because it was more accessible. With Flash, the Web won because open standards eventually became powerful enough. With mobile apps, the Web survived because search, links, and publishing were still essential.

This is the browser losing its position as the primary interface to knowledge.

Stack Overflow was the warning shot of the web searches being replaced by AI.

The website will becomes even more infrastructure: Websites will increasingly become infrastructure for machines. They will feed models, agents, search systems, APIs, datasets, crawlers, and private knowledge bases. A source of truth and data.

Emails will remain, but younger generations do not think in folders, inboxes, subjects and signatures. They think in threads, voice notes, reactions and instant replies.

If people stop browsing, stop searching, and stop clicking, then visibility depends on whether AI systems decide your content matters.

Then browsing and URLs will be lost little by little.

People will not say, "Today I reject the open Web." They will simply ask the assistant because it is faster. Convenience wins. Convenience replaces nostalgy, all the time. It almost always wins. The Web's biggest enemy is not ideology. It is not regulation (well, a bit yes). It is not even AI itself. It is convenience.

So the web can become a nerd medium again, like IRC, FTP, Gopher or Bulletin Board System.

Now I am watching AI become the next interface. The pattern is obvious. Interfaces change. Behaviors remain. People want answers. People want connection. People want tools. People want convenience. People want to publish, learn, buy, flirt, argue, create, complain, and feel less alone with their questions. The container changes. The hunger does not. The Web we know is going to disappear. Not because it failed, but because it succeeded so completely that its content can now be absorbed into the next interface.

Maybe this article will be read by humans. Maybe it will be summarized by an AI into two polite lines for someone curious on the other side of the planet. Maybe that person will never visit this page. That is probably the future. A little sad. A little funny. Very predictable.
