I’m not saying never use AI. As I’ve written before, AI excels at automating the boring parts—and there’s nothing wrong with that.
But the key word is constraints. The successful uses I’ve seen have something in common:
The human sets the theory, and the AI executes within it.

It's difficult to transition from beginner to expert. The documentation are often not meant for the mid, and the export often forget the confusion they experienced as beginners.

The author shows that writing about problems you struggled to solve (especially failures and confusing documentation) helps others find answers and helps experts identify gaps in their explanations. Even if the solution seems trivial in hindsight, the difficulty of finding it is valuable information: if one person struggled, many others likely will too.

But I think in general you see what you're paying attention to, and being on the constant look-out for bad things is a bad mental habit. Thinking back 15 years ago, did we use to do this? I don't know if it's the loss of common cultural touchstones but it feels like there's so much tribalism everywhere now.

Les SSII ne donnent toujours pas envie.

Selon l'auteur, les discours alarmistes des entreprises d'IA sur les risques existentiels seraient surtout une stratégie de lobbying et de marketing:

• obtenir des régulations qui limiteraient la concurrence, notamment étrangère et celle des nouveaux entrants ;
• faire reconnaître ces entreprises comme stratégiques, afin qu'elles bénéficient implicitement d'un status de "too big to fail" et d'un éventuel soutien du public.

Ces alertes servent davantage les intérêts économiques et politiques des entreprises d’IA qu’elles ne reflètent un danger réel pour l’humanité.
