Why give up GitHub?
- Copilot is a for-profit product that violated licenses
- GitHub has a for-profit software services contract with the USA Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE)
- While GitHub pretends to be pro-FOSS (like SourceForge before them), their entire hosting site is, itself, proprietary and/or trade-secret software. GitHub differs from most of its peers in the FOSS project hosting industry, as GitHub does not even offer any self-hosting FOSS option. Their entire codebase is secret.
- GitHub has long sought to discredit copyleft generally. Their various CEOs have often spoken loudly and negatively about copyleft
- GitHub is wholly owned by Microsoft, a company whose executives have historically repeatedly attacked copyleft licensing.
How do I give up?
Hard because vendor lock-in.
Alternatives?
CodeBerg, SourceHut, Gitea, Gitlab.

- having a result where you need to deal with either success or failure
Advices for open source projects:

Open-source projects should complies with new requirements that adds burdens to the maintainers.
New requirement includes: Security information and auditing, legal metada and procurement information see software bill of materials (for each viable project).
This time can not be dedicated to programming und these constraints can lower the motivation of the maintainers to keep going with their projects.
Yet a solution has to be found.

Create mindmaps online. It is then possible to export them as image or save them as file for further changes.
It can work offline too if the project is run on localhost. So it can be run on an personnal server too, well because it is open source 👍
