How to hide desktop icons on ubuntu (on 21.04):
sudo apt install gnome-shell-extension-prefs
gnome-shell-extension-prefsDeactivate Desktop Icons NG (DING)
Older methods does not seems to work (gnome tweak tools, etc...).
